Call for Poster Abstracts

Nebraska Nurses Association Annual Convention
October 1–2, 2026

Convention Theme: 120 Years of Nursing Excellence: Honoring Our Legacy, Shaping Our Future

The Nebraska Nurses Association is seeking poster abstracts from Nebraska nurses and post-licensure student nurses or advanced degree nursing students for their 2026 NNA Annual Convention in Kearney on October 1 and 2, 2026 . This is an opportunity for you to showcase your research, evidence-based practice or quality improvement to nurses from across the state participating in the event. Topics pertaining to clinical practice, patient education, or current trends in nursing/healthcare are encouraged. Both specialty and general nursing topics will be considered. Poster author(s) must have a current nursing license in the United States.

Accepted abstracts will be featured as poster presentations, and at a minimum, the primary author must be present at Convention for questions/feedback during the poster viewing session.

Abstract Submission Deadline: June 19, 2026

  1. Abstracts should be written concisely and provide a response for each element of the scoring rubric.
  2. Abstracts must be submitted by 12:00 pm on June 10, 2026, using the online submission form below
    NOTE: Submission form fields reflect the scoring rubric to be used by peer reviewers
  3. Abstracts should be prepared for blind peer review by removing all identifying information (names, affiliations) from the body of the abstract
  4. Names, credentials, organization/institution affiliations must be provided for all authors in the demographic section of the online form. One primary author should be identified along with all additional authors. The primary author submits the abstract with the full consent of all co-authors. The primary author will be the contact person for all correspondence and the one invited to present at the event.

The Peer Review Team will be reviewing and evaluating each abstract for relevant content support by evidence-based practice and/or guidelines, and quality of writing in expressing key ideas. Abstracts that promote products or services will not be considered.

Abstracts accepted for poster presentation:

  • Primary author must attend/participate in the NNA Convention at a minimum; co-authors are encouraged to attend but are also required to register if they do.
  • Those authors in attendance must register for the full convention, be available during the poster viewing session at the event, and are responsible for covering their own hotel, travel and other related expenses.

Primary Authors will be notified by July 8, 2026 if their abstract has been accepted for poster presentation. All decisions on abstract acceptance are final.

If an abstract is selected the author(s) must do the following:

  • Register for the Convention
  • Submit a completed Financial Relationship Reporting Form by July 22, 2026 – each author must complete a form
  • Provide a brief outline of the content to be covered and at least 2 fully cited, relevant references by July 22, 2026
