NNA Call to Lead
The Nebraska Nurses Association is growing and evolving—and we need nurses like you to help shape what’s next.
Serving in an NNA leadership role is an opportunity to use your experience, build your leadership skills, connect with nurses across Nebraska, and make a meaningful impact on the nursing profession.
Whether you’re passionate about advocacy, professional development, nursing practice, membership, or strengthening the future of NNA, there is a place for your voice.
We invite you to consider running for an NNA leadership position.
Why Serve with NNA?
NNA leadership is about more than attending meetings. It’s an opportunity to:
- Shape the future of nursing in Nebraska
- Advocate for nurses and the patients we serve
- Connect with nursing leaders and colleagues across the state
- Help develop programs, education, and resources for nurses
- Strengthen and grow our professional association
- Build your own leadership and professional skills
You don’t have to have served in NNA before to make a difference. If you care about nursing and want to contribute, we encourage you to consider putting your name forward.
2026 Leadership Opportunities:
Who Can Serve?
To serve on the NNA Board of Directors, you must:
- Hold current individual membership in ANA/NNA.
- Not simultaneously serve as an officer or director of another organization if that service could create a conflict of interest with NNA.
Specific qualifications may apply to individual committee positions.
How NNA Leadership Works
Most NNA committee and Board positions are two-year terms, running from January through December.
President-Elect leadership progression
1 year President-Elect → 2 years President → 1 year Immediate Past President
Applications for appointment to open positions may be accepted throughout the year, while elections for other positions are held in the fall following the Annual Membership Assembly.
READY TO GET INVOLVED?
You don’t have to wait until you feel like an “expert” to lead.
NNA needs nurses with different experiences, perspectives, specialties, and career backgrounds. Your voice and experience can help shape the future of nursing in Nebraska.
If you’re ready to make a difference, we invite you to put your name forward.
